Applications
The antibody is specific for rat type 2B myosin heavy chain, and binds to rat IIB fibres in rat skeletal muscle.
Derivation
Spleen cells were fused with NSO myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against rat type 2B myosin heavy chain
Comments
Animals were immunized with fetal bovine skeletal muscle myosin.
Spleen cells were fused with NSO myeloma cells.
The antibody is specific for rat type 2B myosin heavy chain, and binds to rat IIB fibres in rat skeletal muscle.
The cells were deposited on behalf of Dr. Schiaffino by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 5 X 10 exp4 viable cells/ml.
Maintain cell density between 5 X 10 exp4 and 5 X 10 exp5 viable cells/ml.
Cryopreservation
Culture medium, 95%; DMSO, 5%
Culture Conditions
Temperature: 37.0°C
Isotype IgM
Name of Depositor S Schiaffino
