Why it's important
The adoption of organoids is increasing among cancer researchers. ATCC currently distributes more than 130 different types of organoids from patient-derived tumor biopsies through our partnership with the Human Cancer Models Initiative. Part of our mission is to educate scientists on the media formulations and protocol to culture and use organoids. ATCC scientists are organoid experts. We share our experience and step-by-step processes that can help you successfully culture organoids.
What's the solution?
Researchers want a reliable and easy preparation process that is quick and doesn’t end in failure. To save you time, expense, and waste, ATCC recently developed multiple growth kits of single-use supplements to simplify your workflow and provide the right media for each organoid. The growth kits are used at ATCC with all the HCMI organoid models so you can have confidence that the kits work consistently with the organoid models. Our organoid protocols detail which growth kit to use with each organoid to take the guess work out of the process. The growth kits are packaged with all the media measured out in precise volume per 250 mL basal medium so you don’t have to purchase large quantities of material that would go to waste. Lyophilized components have a long shelf life so the growth kits can be purchased now for use later, as long as it’s not mixed with final growth medium. The easy-to-use kits will ensure consistent and reliable organoid growth that will ensure the reproducibility of your experiments.
