Heat-inactivated Monkeypox virus

This product is a preparation of Monkeypox virus strain hMPX/USA/MA001/2022 that has been inactivated by heating at 65°C for 30 minutes and is therefore unable to replicate.

Each vial contains approximately 0.25 mL of heat-inactivated, clarified cell lysate and supernatant from BSC-40 cells (ATCC CRL-2761) infected with Monkeypox virus strain hMPX/USA/MA001/2022. The vial should be centrifuged prior to opening.

This isolate belongs to clade IIb, lineage B.1. It was submitted to GISAID by the CDC and assigned accession ID EPI_ISL_13052289. It has also been sequenced at ATCC for the ATCC Genome Portal.

The long-term stability of this preparation is not known at this time. It is recommended that users confirm the activity of the product if not used within three months of receipt.
