Immortalized human meibomian gland epithelial cells (IHMGEC) is a cell line exhibiting epithelial morphology that was isolated from the eye of a male patient. This cell line will produce a mucus-like secretion at confluency and struggle to attach after subculture. It can be used to study meibomian gland physiology.
