Speed Your Preclinical Experiments with ATCC® Cell Line Land Quality ‘Omics Data

September 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM ET

Abstract

With the increasing adoption of cell lines set to replace traditional animal-based methods in biomedical research, there is an urgent need for standardized practices. Treating cells as fundamental reagents is imperative for designing reproducible assays. Recognizing this need, ATCC® has expanded its cell line authentication program to meet current and future demands. Through our alliance with QIAGEN® Digital Insights, ATCC® has launched ATCC Cell Line Land. This digital platform provides comprehensive whole-transcriptome sequencing data for ATCC's authenticated human and mouse cell lines. The platform empowers researchers by visualizing gene expression patterns thereby enabling the selection of suitable cell line models for their specific research areas. The high-quality transcriptomic datasets generated through ATCC® Cell Line Land offer invaluable molecular insights into different cell lines. This not only saves researchers time and resources related to cell line characterization but also enhances the selection of cell lines for preclinical studies. By advancing cell line characterization through high-throughput RNA-seq data and accompanying metadata, this platform enhances scientific rigor and contributes to reducing the risk of irreproducibility in research endeavors.

Key takeaways:

  • Treating cells as fundamental reagents is essential for designing reproducible assays.
  • Through our alliance with QIAGEN® Digital Insights, ATCC® has introduced a state-of-the-art digital platform that offers comprehensive whole-transcriptome sequencing data for ATCC's cell lines.
  • ATCC® Cell Line Land supports numerous studies such as biomarker discovery, transcript identification, splice variant analysis, and mutation profiling.
  • These high-quality transcriptomic data streamline cell line characterization, aid in selecting appropriate cell lines for preclinical studies, and contribute to reducing the risk of irreproducibility in research.
