View our frequently asked questions
How do I process or store MicroQuant™ products after delivery?
MicroQuant™ should be placed in 2-8°C upon receipt and can be stored at this temperature for 6-12 months (See individual product pages for expiry).
My MicroQuant™ kit was mistakenly stored in the freezer. Can I still use it?
Yes, no performance impact was observed in ATCC benchmark studies following storage in a freezer.
My MicroQuant™ kit experienced a temperature excursion at room temperature, can I still use it?
MicroQuant™ vials can remain at ambient temperature for up to 2 days without any statistically significant difference as compared to items that remained in 2-8°C storage.
What steps are needed to prepare MicroQuant™ products for use?
Refer to the Instructions for Use (IFU) and the product information sheet for information on how to prepare MicroQuant™ products for use. MicroQuant™ products can be used immediately after removal from 2-8°C storage. There is no need to thaw the vials containing the rehydrating solution or pellet.
Are we able to rehydrate MicroQuant™ products then store in the refrigerator for a week or so?
The dissolved pellet should be used within 8 hours after rehydration. Refer to the product information sheet or Instructions for Use (IFU) for additional details.
One of my MicroQuant™ pellets was fractured. Can I still use it?
MicroQuant™ pellets that may be fractured during shipment are still able to be used by following the product information sheet and Instructions for Use (IFU).
What if a MicroQuant™ component vial is cracked or broken and can't be used? How do I replace it?
In the event that a vial is cracked or broken during shipment, please email our product experience specialists at [email protected].
Are the MicroQuant™ Bacillus spizizenii and Aspergillus brasiliensis products provided as cells or spores?
MicroQuant™ Bacillus spizizenii, high CFU (ATCC 6633-HQ-PACK) and MicroQuant™ Bacillus spizizenii, low CFU (ATCC 6633-LQ-PACK) are provided as cells. MicroQuant™ Aspergillus brasiliensis, high CFU (ATCC 16404-HQ-PACK) and MicroQuant™ Aspergillus brasiliensis, low CFU (ATCC 16404-LQ-PACK) are provided as spores.
What are some non-selective agars that can be used with MicroQuant™ strains?
Tryptic soy agar (TSA) plates can be used with MicroQuant™ strains.
How are MicroQuant™ products manufactured and authenticated?
MicroQuant™ products are manufactured with ATCC's rigorous seed-lot and quality management systems. The novel cryopreservation technique is proprietary and patent pending to ATCC and produces a discrete pellet that is stable at refrigeration temperatures. ATCC authenticates biological materials through a rigorous process that includes genotypic, phenotypic, and functional analyses. Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for detailed test results and authentication data for each strain.
How do I access the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for MicroQuant™ products?
The Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for the pellet is associated with the batch number on the label for the pellet vial. The assembled kit is assigned a different batch number and does not have a separate CoA. You may also scan the QR code on a pellet vial to directly access the CoA.
