ATCC highly recommends that appropriate personal protective equipment is always used when handling vials. For cultures that require storage in liquid nitrogen, it is important to note that some vials may leak when submersed in liquid nitrogen and will slowly fill with liquid nitrogen. Upon thawing, the conversion of the liquid nitrogen back to its gas phase may result in the vial exploding or blowing off its cap with dangerous force creating flying debris. Unless necessary, ATCC recommends that these cultures be stored in the vapor phase of liquid nitrogen rather than submersed in liquid nitrogen.
Growth in solid Middlebrook 7H10 medium and on Löwenstein–Jensen medium was observed in seven days at 30°C and 37°C, giving rise to non-chromogenic, shiny, smooth colonies with defined edges and creamy consistency. It shows growth in TCH, but not in NaCl nor in MacConkey. Positive for Tween 80 hydrolysis, catalase and urease production, and nitrate and tellurite reduction, while negative for iron uptake. It is susceptible to amikacin, ciprofloxacin, clarithromycin, sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim and moxifloxacin, but resistant to ethambutol, rifampicin, isoniazid, doxycycline, and streptomycin. The genome draft and sequence of the 16S rRNA gene of MYC340 are annotated in GenBank under accession CP083956 and MK890521.1, respectively. The type strain is MYC340 (= INCQS P7260 = JCM 35368). Additional genotypes: rpoB and hsp65 gene, MK879905.1 and MK877167.1 respectively.
Depositor recommends growth on Middlebrook 7H10 medium supplemented with 0.5% glycerol and 10% OADC-oleic acid, albumin, dextrose and catalase (Becton Dickinson).
Strain was cultivated in solid medium to observe macroscopic characteristics of individual colonies which were compatible with a single profile. Analysis of the gene sequences (rpoB, hsp65 and 16S) showed no contamination. To verify possible genomic contamination, we used Kraken2 v2.0.8_beta with the database ftp://ftp.ccb.jhu.edu/pub/data/kraken2_dbs/minikraken_8GB_202003.tgz.
The product is provided 'AS IS' and the viability of ATCC® products is warranted for 30 days from the date of shipment, provided that the customer has stored and handled the product according to the information included on the product information sheet, website, and Certificate of Analysis. For living cultures, ATCC lists the media formulation and reagents that have been found to be effective for the product. While other unspecified media and reagents may also produce satisfactory results, a change in the ATCC and/or depositor-recommended protocols may affect the recovery, growth, and/or function of the product. If an alternative medium formulation or reagent is used, the ATCC warranty for viability is no longer valid. Except as expressly set forth herein, no other warranties of any kind are provided, express or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, manufacture according to cGMP standards, typicality, safety, accuracy, and/or noninfringement.

ATCC is a private, nonprofit biological resource center (BRC) and research organization that holds deposits of new type strains. ATCC tests for viability and identity upon the initial deposit of type strains. For those strains with a “TSD” designation, no further testing is performed and these strains are made available on behalf of the depositor per the requirements of the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM), published by the Society for General Microbiology (SGM), and the International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes (ICSP).
ATCC may fully accessions new type strains into its general culture collection. At that time, ATCC will provide an “ATCC” designation to the strain, fully characterize the strain, and provide a Certificate of Analysis with authentication data for that specific item.
If shipping to the U.S. state of Hawaii, you must provide either an import permit or documentation stating that an import permit is not required. We cannot ship this item until we receive this documentation. Contact the Hawaii Department of Agriculture (HDOA), Plant Industry Division, Plant Quarantine Branch to determine if an import permit is required.
