Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): SmaI--2.7; AvaI--2.7; BglI--1.6, 1.1. Useful for rescuing cloned bacterial inserts by digestion with I-SceI, an enzyme recognizing a rare 18 bp sequence which has yet to be found in bacterial DNA.
