Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BglII--1.9; XhoI--1.9; BamHI--1.9. Insert contains the following restriction sites (approximate kb from nt 1): AvaI--0.05, 0.09; BamHI--0.05; BglII--0.04; BssHII--0.01; DraI--0.92, 0.94, 1.63; KpnI--0.11; NotI--0.17; SmaI--0.09; SspI--1.86; XbaI--0.10; XhoI--0.05. Cloning vector containing a reduced number of restriction sites, useful for site-directed mutagenesis of inserts. Constructed from pUC19 by elimination of many of the restriction endonuclease sites and replacement of nt 2555-640 with a smaller polylinker. Differs from RR2 ( ATCC 87077) by a T1100C transition and the loss of an FspI restriction site at nt 1280.
