When culturing HTB-14 it is normal for these cells to pile up and form loosely attached clusters. The cells should be fed with fresh medium every 2 or 3 days, beginning on day 3 post-thaw. The culture should be allowed to incubate undisturbed until day 3 for best attachment. The dislodged or floating cells should always be retained by gentle centrifugation and added back to the adherent population, if they are discarded then the culture will become too dilute. These cells may not become 100% confluent and may detach from the flask when the culture is heavy.
