ATCC 23714 preparation of dilutions

How are the dilutions of ATCC® 23714™ prepared?

Serial dilutions are prepared using a tube containing 5 mL of recommended medium and withdrawing approximately 0.5 to 1.0 ml from the tube and using it to rehydrate the pellet.  Then aseptically transfer the rehydrated material back into the tube and mix well.  The dilutions are created by transferring 0.5 mL from the original tube to a tube containing 4.5 mL.  Repeat the process by transferring 0.5 mLfrom the second tube to a third tube, and repeat for a fourth tube.
