Morphology of ATCC® HTB-161

What is the morphology of ATCC® HTB-161 ™, NIH:OVCAR-3 cells?

ATCC® HTB-161 ™, NIH:OVCAR-3 cultures consist of cells with well-defined, closely approximating margins that grow as a monolayer giving the typical cobblestone-like appearance of epithelial cells. When NIH:OVCAR-3 cells are left at confluence for extended periods they develop foci of "piled-up" cells. Cell cytoplasm is often vacuolated and round intercellular spaces can sometimes be observed.

A photomicrograph of this cell line is available in the product description for ATCC® HTB-161 ™on the ATCC website.
