The Colombia isolate of Cryptosporidium parvum is a genotypeII isolate and was obtained from the feces of a naturally infected calf, Bos taurus, in Oct 1998 near Medelin, Colombia. Oocysts were submitted for DNA extraction by Dr. Elvira Ares-Mazas, Spain.
