HCC38 BL is a B lymphoblastoid cell line initiated by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) transformation of peripheral blood lymphocytes obtained from the same patient as HCC38. HCC38 was initiated from a 50-year-old White female with primary breast ductal carcinoma and a prior history of leiomyosarcoma; her mother died of breast cancer.  DNA isolated from the cell line, HCC38, is available as ATCC CRL-2314D.
