The line can be used as a fusion partner for making B cell hybridomas.
Derivation
The line was line created by self fusing Sp2/0 myeloma cells using Sendai virus.

Comments
The cells are resistant to 8-azaguanine and do not produce immunoglobulin.

Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing
Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 0.5 to 1 X 105 viable cells/mL.
Maintain cell density between 1 X 105 and 1 X 106 viable cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days

culture medium 95%; DMSO, 5%
