Morphology of ATCC® CRL-1740

What is the morphology for LNCaP clone FGC (ATCC® CRL-1740 ™)?

ATCC® CRL -1740 ™, LNCaP clone FGC cells form monolayers that are weakly adherent. The cultures require gentle handling as tapping, shaking or pipetting can easily dislodge the cells. The cells do not produce a neat monolayer, but tend to grow in clusters that should be broken apart by repeated pipetting when subcultures are prepared. The reattachment of dissociated cells is slow and only about 70% of the cells from the original inoculum adhere to the growth surface within 48 hours. Therefore, leave newly inoculated flasks undisturbed for 48 hours.

A photomicrograph of this cell line is available in the product description for ATCC® CRL-1740 ™ on the ATCC website.
