Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): EcoRI--5.8, 3.3, 2.3; XbaI--7.6, 3.8; SalI--11.0.
This is one of three lacZ reporter plasmids that lack UAS promoter elements (ATCC 87509, 87510 & 87513). They differ by polylinker sites.
DNA fragments can be inserted into these plasmids to assay UAS (upstream activation site) activity.
The vector was constructed by Susan Henry.
