PA21 is one of the better characterized primate HAV strains that differs significantly from the HM175-like isolates [Brown et al., J, Virol. 63: 4932-37, 1989]. Hepatitis A antigen can be detected in infected cells by IF and in infected cell culture supernate by ELISA. This item has fungal contamination that can, with difficulty, be controlled with Amphotericin B.
