Comments

pHPV-1 (3-3) isolated by P. Howley from a plantar wart. Entire genomic DNA linearized at BamHI site into BamHI site of pBR322. Under standard conditions, no homology is detectable between HPV-1a, HPV-1b, HPV-2a, and HPV-4. Under less stringent conditions, the HPV DNAs and BPV-1 demonstrate about 30% base mismatch. Circular HPV-1a was linearized with BamHI before cloning.
