    Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium is a sterile, phenol red-free, liquid tissue culture medium intended for use as one component in a complete ATCC® Primary Cell Solutions™ system. This serum-free system is designed to support airway epithelial cells derived from normal human lung. Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, other organic compounds, trace minerals and inorganic salts. To support the proliferation and plating efficiency of various types of airway epithelial cells, Airway Cell Basal Medium must be supplemented with the appropriate cell-specific growth kit. When using this complete media system, the growth of airway epithelial cells is supported without the use of feeder layers, extracellular matrix proteins or other substrates.

    Stem Cell Dissociation Reagent is a neutral protease isolated from Bacillus polymyxa that promotes safe and efficient detachment of human embryonic stem cells (hESC) and human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) during subcultivation in cell culture. The gentle proteolytic action of the reagent does not damage the cell membrane and supports the growth of hiPSCs in an undifferentiated state. Serum does not inhibit the activity of the reagent. Stem Cell Dissociation Reagent is suitable for hESCs and hiPSCs cultured in feeder-free and feeder-dependent conditions.

    L-glutamine (200 mM solution in 0.85% NaCl) is an essential amino acid required by virtually all mammalian and insect cells grown in culture. L-alanyl-L-glutamine can be used as a direct substitute for L-glutamine at equimolar concentrations (2 to 4 mM for most applications). Whereas L-glutamine is labile in cell culture medium and its degradation results in a deleterious build-up of ammonia, the L-alanyl-L-glutamine dipeptide is very stable with minimal ammonia production. Once inside the cell, the dipeptide is split by aminopeptidases into L-alanine and L-glutamine.

Serum has not come from cattle born, raised, shipped through, or slaughtered in countries where BSE is known to exist.
