  • Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium (ATCC® PCS-300-030)

    ATCC® Number: PCS-300-030
    Quantity: 485 mL
Storage: 4 to 8°C, protect from light
    Applications:

Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium is a sterile, phenol red-free, liquid tissue culture medium intended for use as one component in a complete ATCC® Primary Cell Solutions™ system. This serum-free system is designed to support airway epithelial cells derived from normal human lung. Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium contains essential and non-essential amino acids, vitamins, other organic compounds, trace minerals and inorganic salts. To support the proliferation and plating efficiency of various types of airway epithelial cells, Airway Cell Basal Medium must be supplemented with the appropriate cell-specific growth kit. When using this complete media system, the growth of airway epithelial cells is supported without the use of feeder layers, extracellular matrix proteins or other substrates.

    1. For airway epithelial cells derived from bronchial/tracheal tissue (e.g., Primary Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cells, Normal, Human, ATCC PCS-300-010), supplement Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium with the Bronchial Epithelial Cell Growth Kit (ATCC PCS-300-040).
    2. For small airway epithelial cells (e.g., Primary Small Airway Epithelial Cells, Normal, Human, ATCC PCS-301-010), supplement Airway Epithelial Cell Basal Medium with the Small Airway Epithelial Cell Growth Kit (ATCC PCS-301-040).
    3. Optional media supplements:
      1. Gentamicin-Amphotericin B Solution (ATCC PCS-999-025)
      2. Penicillin-Streptomycin-Amphotericin B Solution (ATCC PCS-999-002)
      3. Phenol Red (ATCC PCS-999-001)

  • Stem Cell Dissociation Reagent (ATCC® ACS-3010)

    ATCC® Number: ACS-3010
    Quantity: 250 mg
    Storage: 2°C to 8°C

    Product Format: 250 mg
    Comments:

Stem Cell Dissociation Reagent is a neutral protease isolated from Bacillus polymyxa that promotes safe and efficient detachment of human embryonic stem cells (hESC) and human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) during subcultivation in cell culture. The gentle proteolytic action of the reagent does not damage the cell membrane and supports the growth of hiPSCs in an undifferentiated state. Serum does not inhibit the activity of the reagent. Stem Cell Dissociation Reagent is suitable for hESCs and hiPSCs cultured in feeder-free and feeder-dependent conditions.

  • Non-Enzymatic Cell Dissociation Solution (ATCC® 30-2103)

    ATCC® Number: 30-2103
    Quantity: 100 mL
Storage: When stored at 2°C to 8°C, the product is stable until the expiration date on the label.
    Applications:

Trypsin is the most commonly used enzyme for harvesting cells in culture. A non-enzymatic approach is needed when non-protein and animal-component free materials are required. ATCC Non-Enzymatic Cell Dissociation Solution is a sterile, phenol-red free solution composed of a proprietary mixture of chelators representing an optimized alternative to protein-digesting enzymes.

Comments: NOTE: Most cell culture technologists avoid using antibiotics and antimycotics for routine culture work. Antibiotics and antimycotics may mask contamination by susceptible bacteria and fungi while permitting mycoplasma to flourish unnoticed. Antibiotics and antimycotics may interfere with the metabolism of sensitive cells in culture. However, one may elect to introduce antibiotics and antimycotics for short periods to primary cultures or as a safeguard while propagating specific valuable stocks.

  • L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine, 200 mM Solution in 0.85% NaCl. (ATCC® 30-2115)

    ATCC® Number: 30-2115
    Quantity: 100 mL
Storage: Store L-alanyl-L-glutamine solution at 2°C to 30°C.
    Applications:

L-glutamine (200 mM solution in 0.85% NaCl) is an essential amino acid required by virtually all mammalian and insect cells grown in culture. L-alanyl-L-glutamine can be used as a direct substitute for L-glutamine at equimolar concentrations (2 to 4 mM for most applications). Whereas L-glutamine is labile in cell culture medium and its degradation results in a deleterious build-up of ammonia, the L-alanyl-L-glutamine dipeptide is very stable with minimal ammonia production. Once inside the cell, the dipeptide is split by aminopeptidases into L-alanine and L-glutamine.

    ATCC® Number: 30-2030
    Quantity: 500 mL
Storage: Store calf bovine serum at -20°C or colder. Do not store frozen calf bovine serum at temperatures above -20°C for any length of time. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws by dispensing and storing calf bovine serum in aliquots. Calf bovine serum is supplied in PETG plastic bottles.
Applications: Iron supplemented and triple filtered through 0.1 μm filters. Each lot of calf bovine serum is tested for sterility and for the ability to support the growth of cells using sequential growth curves. Calf bovine serum is manufactured from bovine blood collected in USDA-inspected abattoirs located in the United States. Serum has not come from cattle born, raised, shipped through, or slaughtered in countries where BSE is known to exist.
