Organism Mus musculus (B cell); Mus musculus (myeloma), mouse (B cell); mouse (myeloma)
Cell Type hybridoma: B lymphocyte
Product Format frozen
Morphology lymphoblast
Culture Properties suspension
Biosafety Level 1
Applications
The antibody reacts with a combinatorial determinant of HLA A,B,C.
The antibody cross-reacts with cells of various primates.
The cells do poorly if hypoxanthine and thymidine are omitted from the medium tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Derivation
Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells.
Genes Expressed
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against HLA A, B, C
Cellular Products
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against HLA A, B, C
Comments
Animals were immunized with papain solubilized HLA A2,B7.

Complete Growth Medium RPMI 1640 medium with 0.1 mM hypoxanthine and 0.016 mM thymidine, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%
Complete Growth Medium
Culture Medium: RPMI medium 1640 with 10(-4) M hypoxanthine, 1.6 x 10(-5) M
thymidine, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%. The cells do poorly if hypoxanthine
and thymidine are omitted.
Subculturing
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
