Guinea pigs were immunized with the Aujeszky strain of pseudorabies virus.
The immunogen was prepared in rhesus monkey kidney cells and was treated with formalin, EDTA and merthiolate (NIAID antigen preparation V-348-002-015).
No adjuvant was used.
