Biosafety Level 2
Isolation
Human eye, keratoconjunctivitis (possible genitourinary disorder), Netherlands, 1976
Product Format frozen 1 mL per vial
Storage Conditions -70°C or colder
Comments Good immunogen in rabbits and horses. Cross-reacts with Human adenovirus 10, 13, 19 and 30 by serum neutralization and HAI. HA with rat, rhesus monkey and human O type red blood cells.
Effect on Host CPE, refractile rounding and sloughing
Recommended Host WI-38 (ATCC CCL-75)
Growth Conditions Temperature: 37°C

Recommendations for Infection: Plate cells 24 hours prior to infection and infect when cultures are 75-90% confluent. Remove medium and inoculate with a small volume of virus (e.g. 1 mL per 25 cm2) diluted to provide an optimal MOI (e.g. 0.1). Adsorb 1-2 hours at 37°C in a humidified 5% CO2 atmosphere while rocking continuously. End adsorption by adding virus growth medium.

Incubation: 2-11 days
Effect on Host CPE, refractile rounding and sloughing
Name of Depositor JC de Jong, National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, Netherlands
Source Human eye with keratoconjunctivitis (possible genitourinary disorder), Netherlands, 1976
Year of Origin 1976
