Restriction digests of the vector give the following sizes (kb): SacI--6.2; SacI/SpeI--5.9, 0.4. CTR3 and CTR1 are the copper transporter promoters and are repressed by the presence of copper and highly activated under copper-starvation conditions. The time course of copper-starvation activation and copper repression of a reporter gene is rapid.
