Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): XhoI--11.0; HindIII--8.7, 2.2; EcoRI--4.75, 3.45, 2.4.
This is one of three lacZ reporter plasmids that lack UAS promoter elements (ATCC 87509, 87510 & 87513). They differ by polylinker sites.
DNA fragments can be inserted into these plasmids to assay UAS (upstream activation site) activity.
The vector was constructed by Lenny Guarente.
