The FB8H3 hybridoma was produced by fusing P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice that had been immunized with a fumonisinB1 - BSA conjugate.
The antibody is specific for fumonisin mycotoxins, and is useful for detecting this class of mycotoxins in maize and maize products.

Derivation

Subculturing
Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 to 3 X 10(5) viable cells/ml. Do not allow cell concentration to exceed 1 X 10(6) cells/ml.
Interval: Maintain cell density between 2 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6) viable cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with an additional 10% fetal bovine serum and 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
