HIV-1 Drug Resistance Genotyping Kit Available only for WHO-DESIGNATED & CDC-supported pepfar genotyping laboratories
The CDC HIV-1 Pan Group-M Drug Resistance Genotyping Assay is now available as the ATCC® HIV-1 Drug Resistance Genotyping Kit* for surveillance of HIV-1 drug resistance in WHO-designated and CDC-supported PEPFAR Genotyping Laboratories. This collaboration serves to bring investigators the trusted expertise of the CDC, supported by the excellence and quality of ATCC materials and reagents.
The HIV-1 Drug Resistance Genotyping Kit is intended for use in detecting HIV genomic mutations that confer resistance to specific types of antiretroviral (ARV) drugs, as an aid in monitoring HIV-1 drug resistance development and transmission. It can be used to:
- Detect multiple HIV-1 subtypes and circulating recombinant forms (CRFs) viral resistance in plasma (EDTA collected), Dried Blood Spots (DBS), or Dried Plasma Spots (DPS) with a viral load equal to or greater than 1000 copies/mL
- Genotype a specific region of HIV-1 RNA that includes the protease gene and the 5’ portion of the reverse transcriptase (RT) gene
Genotyping provides investigators with a genetic map to aid in monitoring the development and transmission of drug resistance mutations among an ARV-treated population or an ARV-treatment-naïve population recently diagnosed with HIV-infection.
*The ATCC HIV-1 Drug Resistance Genotyping Kit is not intended to be used as a screening test for HIV or as a diagnostic assay to confirm the presence of HIV infection.
Two modules are provided for genotyping, allowing for both detection & sequence analyses:
- Module 1: RT-PCR & Nested PCR (ATCC® GK-0098™)
- Module 2: Cycle Sequencing (ATCC® GK-0200™)
Orders are processed first as sales quotations, which should be requested by email.
