The insert contains human superoxide dismutase fused to the amino-terminus of insulin-like growth factor 2 with a methionine codon at the junction between the two sequences.

 

A 0.51 kb EcoRI/BamHI fragment containing the IGF2 and alpha-factor terminator was ligated with the 1.83 kb BamHI/EcoRI fragment containing the ADH2-GAP promoter and SOD. The resulting 2.34 kb BamHI fragment was cloned into pAB24.
