Derivation
Animals were immunized with splenic or thymic lymphocytes.
Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells.

Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing

Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or by replacement of medium. Adherent cells can be dislodged by scraping, and cultures may be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 x 10viable cells/mL. A saturation density of 1 x 106 cells/mL is obtainable.

Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
