Applications
Animals were immunized against TC31, a NMRI strain mouse IgM, kappa monoclonal antibody of the IgMa allotype.
It reacts with the IgMa but not the IgMb determinant localized to the CH1 domain of the mu heavy chain.
DS1 antibody reacts with cells bearing the a,c,f,g,h and j Igh-C haplotypes.
This antibody can be used as a typing reagent for mouse IgM of the a,c,f,g,h and j haplotypes.
It is useful in typing immunoglobulin transgenic mice in which the IgM locus is involved.

Subculturing
Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension in fresh medium at 4 to 5 X 10(5) viable cells/ml. Do not allow the cell concentration to exceed 1 X 10(6) cells/ml.
Interval: Maintain cultures at cell concentrations between 5 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6) viable cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density)
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
