Note that activities with high potential for aerosol production require BSL 3 facilities and practices. Egg preparations may require adaptation to grow in tissue culture cells.

Toxic for white mice in 1 to 24 hours when given i. v.

Growth Conditions
Temperature: 37.0°C
Incubation: incubate 48 to 72 hours at 37°C in tissue culture
Protocol: Add glassbeads and vortex preparation to disrupt cells. Infect monolayer with disrupted material. Centrifuge at 3000 x rpm (750 x g) for 1 hour. Feed with fresh growth medium containing FBS prescreened for Chlamydia antibodies and 1 to 2 mcg/ml cycloheximide. Incubate at 37C for 48 to 72 hours.
Subcultivation
