ATCC® 13706-B2™ is a tailless icosahedron with large capsomeres at each apex, 250 angstroms in size, single-stranded DNA.
Host range: restricted to F- strains of Escherichia coli. Unlike the morphologically similar phi X174 it will grow on E. coli B. Strain alpha 3 is morphologically identical to phi X174, S13, phi R and S/1 but differs serologically and in host range
