Classification Poxviridae, Orthopoxvirus
Deposited As Vaccinia virus, Orthopoxvirus
Agent Vaccinia virus ts mutant
Strain IHD-W Dts10 (Dales isolate 1131)
Applications
The mutation was assigned by complementation analysis (Lackner, et al, 2003) to vaccinia map location A24.
Positive for Mycoplasma No
Biosafety Level 2 CDC BMBL recommends vaccination.
Isolation
derived from existing strain
Product Format frozen
Storage Conditions -70°C or colder
Comments
Not described in the original publication, but assumed to have been selected after mutagenesis with nitrosoguanidine. The non-permissive incubation temperature is 39.5oC. This mutant was assigned to Dales EM category C, indicating that it induces rudimentary virus membranes with spicules in foci of viroplasm in infected cells. The mutation was assigned by complementation analysis (Lackner, et al, 2003) to vaccinia map location A24.
