Animals were immunized with the mouse erythroleukemia line 745.6.
Spleen cells were fused with S194/5.XXO.BU.1 myeloma cells.
This antibody stains brighter by immunofluorescence than does R17 208.2 (ATCC TIB-220).
The antibody does not prevent cell proliferation.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
Complete Growth Medium Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate and 4.5 g/L glucose and supplemented with 0.02 mM 2-mercaptoethanol and 10% horse serum
Subculturing
Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 4 X 10 exp4 cells/ml and do not allow the cell concentration to exceed 4 X 10 exp5 cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium 95%; DMSO, 5%
