Derivation
Animals were immunized with mouse SIGN-R1 protein and their spleen cells were fused with mouse myeloma cells. SIGN-R1 is a C-type lectin. The antibody selectively binds to mouse SIGN-R1 but not to cells transfected with other lectins. The antibody is useful for FACS and immunocytochemistry assays.

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing
Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 X 10(4) to 4 X 10(4) viable cells/ml.
Interval: Subculture when cells reach a concentration of 8 X 10(5) cells/ml.
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density).
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
