Animals were immunized with stromal cells from mouse bone marrow.
Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0 myeloma cells.
The antibody blocks adhesion of lymphocyte precursors to bone marrow stromal cells.
The antibody recognizes an antigen believed to be the mouse analog of human VCAM-1 that is expressed on stromal cells in bone marrow and on inflamed endothelial cells (see also M/K-1.9, ATCC CRL-1910).

Subculturing
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 4 days
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 1 x 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 x 10 exp5 and 1 x 10 exp6 cells/ml.
