This strain closely resembles the flagellate described by Stokes. It is placed in this species for convenience until a new genus is formally described.
Fill a 16 x 125 mm screw-capped test tube with 12 ml of medium. Incubate the tube on a 15-degree horizontal slant with the cap screwed on tightly.
