Antigenically related to, but not identical with, the agent of Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Infected male GP usually show scrotal reactions. *)Requests for this agent must carry signed statement assuming all risks and responsibility for lab handling.
Passage may be made in mice (i.p.) by inoculation of spleen from moribund mice; inoculated mice become ill and die in 9-10 days. BSL III practices and facilities are recommended for propagative laboratory procedures.
