This line was derived from the GM4672 cell line (Human Genetic Mutant Cell Repository, Coriell Institute for Medical Research) following treatment with ethylmethanesulfonate (EMS).
The cells are HAT sensitive and are negative for Epstein-Barr virus.
According to information provided by the patent depositor (US Patent 4,720,459 dated Jan 19 1988), this cell line did not secrete an immunoglobulin. However, recent testing at ATCC has confirmed the presence of IgG.
