ATCC Standards Resource®

ATCC Standards Resource Logo

The ATCC® Standards Resource® was launched in 2006 to provide a Web-based search tool by which procedural standards and commercial identification systems are cross-referenced with recommended ATCC cultures, enabling the customer to easily find and purchase ATCC Genuine Cultures® specified in a particular standardized test method or procedure.

Users of widely applied and agreed-upon procedural standards and QC protocols utilize the Standards Resource to find ATCC cultures cited in:

  • Test methods and standards from standard-setting organizations and agencies such as CLSI, ASTM International, USP, USDA, FDA, AOAC, and BSI-Global among many others
  • Protocols for the QC testing of instruments, kits and reagents from bioMérieux, Biolog, Dade Behring, DuPont Qualicon and others
  • End-users include scientists in clinical laboratories, pharmaceutical development, quality control microbiology and a host of other fields in which cell lines and microorganisms are used for standards-related testing

The ATCC Standards Resource

  • Provides a user-friendly tool for our standards customers to access standards information and facilitate purchase of ATCC materials cited therein
  • Allows virtual bundling of ATCC items cited in widely used and accepted standards and methods
  • Provides "One stop shopping" — for ATCC materials cited in standards

ATCC cultures are meticulously characterized and preserved to maintain these materials in a manner that permits reproducibility of results across time and among laboratories around the world. When you use ATCC Genuine Cultures® in your standard tests, you are getting high-quality biomaterials with low passage numbers.

Our Standards Resource enables you to find these ATCC cultures associated with testing and other protocols.

Users of the Standards Resource have several search options. Search by the name or number of the standard or by the name of the standard-setting organization. In addition, you can search by commercial manufacturer of testing instrumentation, the commercial testing instrument/equipment and by the ATCC item name or number.
When you enter a standard name or number, the
Standards Resource returns information about the ATCC cultures necessary to perform that standard procedure. Alternatively, if you enter a specific ATCC item name or number, you can view all the standards-related information associated with that material. From the ATCC item number in the search results, you may also link to the item detail page to obtain additional culture and growth information.

While ATCC uses reasonable efforts to include accurate and up-to-date information on the Web-based Standards Resource, ATCC makes no warranties or representations as to its accuracy. We rely upon the Standards Organizations and commercial companies  to provide current information about the inclusion of ATCC organisms in their published standard methods. ATCC does not warrant that such information has been confirmed to be accurate.
