Morphology

Colonies on Malt Yeast 50 % Glucose (MY50G) growing slowly reaching about 15 mm in diameter, after two weeks, low, whitish to translucent, more or less shiny. Development of cleistothecia after 2 weeks; cleistothecia (almost) sessile, maturing after a prolonged incubation period of 4-6 weeks, about 45-125 µm in diam, walls thin, hyaline; asci evanescent containing 2 ascospores. Ascospores more or less lunate, plano-convex, 10-12 x 4-5 µm. Aleurioconidia thick-walled, smooth, 15-20 x 12-15 µm, rounded at the top and with a flattened base.
