Derivation

Animals were immunized with mouse lymph node stroma.

Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells.

Comments

The antibody reacts with an antigen that is expressed at high levels on mouse dendritic cells and thymic cortical epithelial cells.

The antigen is a 205,000 dalton group VI C type molecule that mediates adsorptive endocytosis and antigen presentation.

The antibody reacts with and stains mouse dendritic cells and epidermal Langerhans cells.

The cells are capable of being adapted to serum free growth in using Nutridoma medium.

Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Subculturing Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 1 x 105 viable cells/mL.  Maintain cultures at a cell concentration between 2 x 10and 1 x 10cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cryopreservation
Culture medium, 95%; DMSO, 5%. Cell culture tested DMSO is available as ATCC® Catalog No. 4-X.
