Derivation

Animals were immunized with the Peyer's patch HEV binding lymphoma line TK1.

Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells.

Comments

The antibody recognizes the alpha subunit of a 160000/130000 dalton cell surface heterodimer expressed on lymphocytes and lymphomas capable of binding to high endothelial venules (HEV) of murine Peyer's patch.

This subunit corresponds to the alpha subunit of the human VLA-4 integrin receptor, and the two are structurally closely related (if not identical).

Subculturing Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 1 x 105 viable cells/mL. Maintain cultures at cell concentrations between 1 x 105 and 1 x 106 cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
