DNA was isolated from oocysts of Cryptosporidium serpentis, KSU-2 isolate, obtained via 5 composite fecal samples, March - April 1996, from a captive albino corn snake, Elaphe guttata guttata. The snake was housed in a private collection in Manhattan, Kansas but originated from an undisclosed retailer in Florida. The animal died of chronic cryptosporidiosis several days following the last fecal collection.
