About 10% hamster impurity by in situ hybridization of sorted chromosomes; about 26% hamster impurity by plaque hybridization. Of 247 plaques that did not hybridize to either total human or hamster DNA, 113 contained human inserts. Of these, 92 mapped unambiguously to chromosome 1, 12 contained repetitive sequences, and were not mapped.
