Raymond H. Cypess, DVM, PhD
Chairman, CEO
Raymond is Chairman and CEO of ATCC and ATCC Global. In this role, he has demonstrated the ability to apply business acumen, fiscal responsibility and innovative approaches to the management of a non-profit/profit corporate structure. He holds a DVM from the University of Illinois and a PhD in parasitology from the University of North Carolina.
Prior to joining ATCC, Raymond was Dean of the College of Graduate Health Sciences, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology and Comparative Medicine, and Vice Provost for Research and Research Training, at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. He was awarded the University of Tennessee Memphis College of Medicine Outstanding Teacher Award for 1989–1993. Raymond has been an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Microbiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and Professor and Chairman at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine.
Raymond participated on National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) scientific review boards and various NIH Study Sections and served on several editorial boards. He is the author of more than 80 chapters, reviews, and journal articles, a fellow in the Infectious Disease Society, and a member of the American Epidemiology Society. At ATCC, he has served as principal investigator on numerous grants and contracts, including the Malaria Research & Reference Reagent Resource Center (MR4) and the Biodefense & Emerging Infectious Research Resources Repository (BEI) from NIAID. He has served on boards of the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ corporations as well as Director and Treasurer of the Virginia Biotechnology Authority.

Drew Cawthon, PhD
Director, Government Contracts
Drew oversees the management of ATCC’s multiple government contracts. These contracts cover the areas of infectious disease, cancer and toxins, and serve to provide quality controlled standardized biological reagents, assays, and services to support investigators in basic and applied research with the goal of providing consistent results among laboratories. Drew also oversees the CORES laboratories which support technology development across ATCC’s three business units.
Prior to joining ATCC, Drew
served as the Director of Preclinical Microbiology and Immunotoxicology at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, where he managed a biocontainment facility and the scientific and technical staff that supported preclinical evaluation of vaccines and therapeutics targeting biodefense pathogens, toxins, and emerging infectious diseases. He received his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Mindy Goldsborough, PhD
VP/General Manager
ATCC Cell Systems
Mindy oversees the ATCC Cell Systems (ACS) business unit which is located in Gaithersburg, MD. ACS was recently formed within the ATCC organization as an innovative product and technology development arm of ATCC. Its current focus is in areas of functional cell biology supporting basic and translational research. ACS is located in the Maryland High Technology Corridor to enable the site to be an active participant in the area’s well established biotechnology community.
Prior to joining ATCC, Mindy was with BD Biosciences as the Director of R&D in the Advanced Bioprocessing group of BD. Prior to that role, she held several positions of increasing responsibility within the BD Biosciences Bioimaging business (formerly Atto Biosciences), including Director of R&D. Prior to BD, she was at Life Technologies where Mindy lead efforts in several diverse areas including DNA-based diagnostics, stem cell biology, forensics and nucleic acid purification. Mindy brings over 25 years of product and technology development expertise in cell and molecular biology to ATCC; several products that Mindy helped develop during her career are still market standards today. She earned her Ph.D. in Genetics from The George Washington University and did her dissertation research and post-doctoral work at The National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute.

Jeff Hung, PhD, MBA
Chief Marketing Officer
Jeff, an innovative leader in quantitative and evidence-based marketing, oversees the global sales and marketing strategy as well as customer services and technical support practices. He is a member of the board of directors of BCI, a non-profit organization that serves underprivileged ethnic groups.
Prior to joining ATCC, Jeff was Senior Director of Marketing at QIAGEN. Prior to that role, he served as the Senior Director of Marketing at SABiosciences, contributing to significant growth leading its acquisition by QIAGEN. He has held management and R&D positions at Invitrogen, Union Biometrica and Exelixis. Jeff earned his PhD from Cornell University, MBA from UC Berkeley, and BS from Peking University.

Matthew Klusas, MS
Director of Corporate Development
Matthew oversees business development, strategic partnerships, intellectual property, licensing, and international distributor relationships for ATCC .
Prior to joining ATCC, Matthew worked at Life Technologies as an integration leader and Chief of Staff for the Genetic Systems Division. He held roles at McKinsey & Co., Deutsche Bank, the Chicago Board of Trade, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Matthew has been published in the McKinsey Quarterly and the Credit Union Journal. He received a BS from the Illinois State University and an MSc from the London School of Economics.

Wil Priester, MBA
Sr. VP of F&A and CFO
Wil leads the corporate finance and accounting operations for ATCC and its affiliates. He also oversees the treasury, tax compliance, and risk management activities.
Prior to joining ATCC, Wil was Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Blue Water Capital, a venture capital firm in the information technology sector, and has held management positions at MedImmune and Coopers & Lybrand. Wil has served on the board of directors for several private companies and is a co-founder and former board member of Lorien Wood, a K-8 school. He received a BS in commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Georgetown University.
