modal number = 53. This is a hypotriploid human cell line with the modal chromosome number occurring in 68% of cells counted. The polyploid cells occurred at 3.0%; eleven marker chromosomes were common to all cells, of which two were paired. The markers included: der(6)(q13), t(7p17q), del(10)(p11.23), paired der(7)t(7;?17)(p22;?q21.1) and der(16)t(16;?)(q24;?), and six others; normal Y, N13, N15, and N16 were absent; the X chromosomes were mostly paired. |

ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Protocol: Remove medium, and rinse with 0.25% trypsin, 0.53 mM EDTA solution. Remove the solution and add an additional 1 to 2 ml of trypsin-EDTA solution. Allow the flask to sit at room temperature (or at 37C) until the cells detach.Add fresh culture medium, aspirate and dispense into new culture flasks. Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 is recommended Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days |
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
Recommended medium (without the additional supplements or serum described under ATCC Medium):ATCC 30-2001 recommended serum:ATCC 30-2020 |
